(BETHESDA, MD) Round House Theatre Bethesda hosts a special performance of a new multi- media theatrical experience based on the popular PostSecret website on Friday, October 5 at 8pm following a four day workshop. PostSecret (www.postsecret.com) is an internationally recognized public art project where people confess their secrets on homemade postcards, anonymously. Frank Warren, creator and curator, posts a selection of cards each week on the PostSecret website, which has become one of the Internet’s most popular sites with over half a billion hits.

PostSecret was born in Washington, DC at Artomatic in 2004. PostSecret has since been a feature exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and other galleries and museums, inspired 500,000 postcard submissions, accumulated 1.1 million Facebook followers, and won numerous Webby awards. Five PostSecret books have climbed The New York Times best-seller list.

This stage adaptation is a collaboration between PostSecret creator Frank Warren and Vancouver based Brand To Stage Productions (TJ Dawe, Kahlil Ashanti, and Justin Sudds).  A unique “web to stage” production, the play presents a kaleidoscopic view of PostSecret, featuring real life stories of how the project has impacted the lives of people around the world, and features dozens of never-before-seen postcards. It incorporates music, animation, and live actors to bring these moving (and occasionally controversial) stories to the stage with a life-affirming message: “you are not alone.”

Round House is one of a select number of regional theatres across the country chosen as a site for development of the PostSecret Play.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased by calling 240.644.1100, online at www.roundhousetheatre.org, or at Round House’s box office in Bethesda. Round House Theatre Bethesda is located at 4545 East-West Highway, one block from Wisconsin Avenue and the Bethesda station on Metro’s Red Line.

This event contains some mature content and is recommended for adult audiences.
